Article Number: GPU-125

This article explains why graphics driver for your product or operating system could not be found using the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool and the AMD Graphics Drivers and Software download page.  It also provides recommendations on how to locate the latest compatible drivers for AMD graphics products.

Issue Description:

The following scenarios may occur when attempting to find latest compatible AMD graphics drivers:

  1. When using the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool, a message window appears stating, "You have the latest driver version for your system."

  2. When using the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool, a message window appears stating, "We were unable to find your product or OS."

  3. When manually searching for a driver using the AMD Graphics Drivers and Software download page, the desired graphics card or operating system is not available as a selection.

Recommendations:

For Desktop Graphics Products

Ensure that the most recent version of the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool is used to detect and install the latest compatible graphics driver.  To obtain the latest version of the tool, please visit the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool pageNOTE: The AMD Driver Autodetect Tool only works with AMD graphics products and Microsoft® Windows operating systems.

If using the latest version of the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool and it gave the message, "You have the latest driver version for your system", then the latest official AMD Catalyst™ driver should already be installed on the system.  To obtain the latest BETA driver for AMD Radeon™ graphics, please visit: www.amd.com/drivers

If using the latest version of the AMD Driver Autodetect Tool and it gave the message, "We were unable to find your product or OS", then compatible drivers may be located by manually searching on the AMD Graphics Drivers and Software download page.  For instructions on how to manually search for AMD graphics drivers, please refer to KB article: GPU-56.

If a compatible graphics driver cannot found using the manual search method, then the operating system may not support the graphics card or the graphics driver is not available through AMD.  Try obtaining graphics driver support directly from the graphics card manufacturer.  For a list of AMD Partners for Add-in-Board (AIB), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and System Builders and their corresponding web sites, please refer to KB article: GPU-91.
