Using a BizLink DisplayPort™ 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport Hub with AMD Radeon™ Graphics Products

This article provides information on how to enable multiple monitors with the BizLink (KS30050-131) DisplayPort™ 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Hub using AMD graphics products. Please refer to this article for additional system requirements.

A) What AMD graphics products are supported with this product?
B) Why can’t I configure my displays in Extended Mode?
C) Why can’t I enable the 3rd display connected to this product?
D) Can I use adapters in sequence with this product for my displays with legacy connectors (eg. DVI, HDMI, VGA)?
E) Can I daisy chain (use in sequence) two (2) of these products?


​A) What AMD graphics products are supported with this product?

If the BizLink DisplayPort 1.2 MST Hub is connected with an unsupported graphics solution, the display will be reported as “VMM2300 DEMO.” In this mode, you will not be able to utilize the features of DisplayPort 1.2 MST. To resolve this, please refer to this article for system requirements.

 

 

 

B) Why can’t I configure my dis​​plays in Extended Mode?
Please check that you have a supported AMD Radeon Graphics solution. Refer to question 'A.'


C) Why can’t I enable the 3rd display connected to this product?
The number of displays which can be connected via DisplayPort 1.2 MST depends on the resolution, timings, and refresh rate of the connected displays. Please refer to this article for additional details.


D) Can I use adapters in sequence with this product for my displays with legacy connectors (eg. DVI, HDMI, VGA)?
The use of additional DisplayPort adapters in combination with the BizLink DisplayPort 1.2 MST Hub is not supported by AMD.

E) Can I daisy chain (use in sequence) two (2) of these products?
No. This will not work with this specific product. The output on the BizLink DisplayPort 1.2 MST Hub does not support MST.
